Allen Payne is a dope actor. An often overlooked gem is Blue Hill, a drama about the drug game here in Boston. Like a lot of brehs in Hollywood before him, he didn't blow up because he didn't play the game. You can tell he a real dude. They don't give too many opportunities to real brehs, and the ones who have succeeded (Denzel, Sam Jackson), did so off the strength of their own persistence and the undeniable talent they brought to the table.
