79th use to be lit though. I mean you cold walk there with no problems (during the day that is). Matter of fact they shot barbershop 1 and 2 not too far from there. Sad what the hood has become.

Herbo and his era literally named their hood "Terror Town"

The Terror town name been around since the 90s. Possibly even before that

:mjlol:the next tech yuppies are going to buy that area up and put mad bicycle shops
I'll happen someday, but it's much further from downtown that other areas will develop much sooner. Historically black Bronzeville has almost now entirely become a part of the south loop. East Garfield Park will eventually be merged w/ the west loop. Humboldt Park is almost all hipsters and yuppies now besides the far west parts and the southern part.

The latin neighborhoods are easier for the developers to gentrify (closer to downtown). The Mexicans are learning how to keep their neighborhood strong and not let little village turn into what pilsen became. They won't seel to you if you're not mexican

Chicago neighborhoods are ugly af

Breh...as far as the hood, the chicago hoods don't look that bad. When the hi rise project were here, sure. Or When all the burned out builldings on the west side from the riots were still standing, sure. But that's all gone now. NOTHING like what detroit used to look like or Baltimore or NOLA. I lived in Houston during 2020 and stayed in the 3rd ward that was a straight up swamp, much nastier looking than chicago.

Tbh it’s just the color of the buildings. And tbh I’m comparing it to cities like Los Angeles and Minneapolis
