Where many murders occur
Today's the day it starts to fall off. Here's an article from 2000 that talks about the complaining starting:

Worst episode ever
"Simpsons" fanatics think the show's creators have betrayed America's most dysfunctional family. The writers think the fans should sign off the Net and get a life.

Weird ass article here: http://www.lostlettermen.com/article/the-simpsons-marathon-is-a-college-football-fans-dream

If you’re reading this, it probably means you have a burning desire for the college football season to (really) start, slogging through the hours which now start to feel like molasses, crawling ever slower until your precious football returns.

Yes, these waning hours until the season kicks off are painful. But lucky for you and lucky for me, FXX has graced us with the perfect time-killer, an entertaining and apropos way for any college football fan to pass the time until Thursday (no offense, Abilene Christian and Georgia State) and eventually, that glorious first college football Saturday.

Chances are you’ve heard — if you haven’t already partaken in the event — that FXX is knee-deep in an epic, 12-day marathon of all 552 episodes of “The Simpsons.” The consecutive showing, which will shatter every existing TV marathon record, started last Thursday and runs through September 1st.

You should be tuning into “The Simpsons” marathon at any juncture anyway because the show — almost always in its first decade and with increasing frequency in recent years — hits the nail on the head like no sitcom has before or after.

But there’s an underlying kinship between Springfield and the world of college football that should give you an added incentive to keep your TV tuned into FXX until you switch it to your desired college football broadcaster:

Just look at the broad scope of each. “The Simpsons” starts and ends with its eponymous family, but in between is a deep cast of eccentric and diverse characters who at any time might claim the spotlight of a particular episode. Flanders, Apu, Chief Wiggum, Mr. Burns, Milhouse, Moe, Krusty the Klown, Abe Simpson, Principal Skinner — the list wouldn’t have to end.

And thanks to a Football Bowl Subdivision that’s 128 teams strong, the Power Five (Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie, if you will) are but a foundation in a wonderful melting pot of characters. There are those freaks out west with blue turf, that ragtag bunch out in the middle of the Pacific Ocean who like to dance before playing actual football, and a plucky underdog led to victory by a guy named “Bortles,” who himself sounds like a “Simpsons” character.

Phil Hartman gets inducted into the Hollywood Walk of Fame today at 2:30 ET. You can see it live on their website. I doubt Andy dikk will be there.

Funny thing is, AV Club wrote an article a few weeks ago showing some people saying the simpsons fell off at like season 2 or 3 or 4 so you can see some of the quotes from back then on some "worst episode ever"

Homer: Oh why won't anyone give me an award?
Lisa: You won a Grammy
Homer: I mean an award that's worth winning!

Disclaimer: Mr. Simpson's opinion do not reflect those of the producers, who don't consider the Grammy an award at all.

:deadrose:

The more I think about it, The Simpsons sowed the seeds for my apathy towards awards shows as a kid. Especially the Grammys...don't throw your garbage down here.

They stay shytting on the Grammy's. When they meet Elton John in the airport he's like "hey have a Grammy". Homers like "ehhhh" then fumbles it right into the trash :laff:
