yep theres really no connection, just that mayans existed in soa and this show is centered around them after the ending of sons.

theres a flashback wth gemma in it for 2 seconds and sons show up in a scene but thats about it

They were just a rival club that had heat with the sons but at the end of the day were always about making money and doing good business. By the end of the show, there didn’t seem to be any bad blood between the two. They didn’t really need much development though, so they’ll likely get that on this show. I wouldn’t be surprised to see the occasional cameo by sons members on this show too though.
