black schools always had underfunding, they used to have teachers that gave a damn and parents that cared and if you look at schools like Dunbar before "integration" they out performed white schools with money.

The teacher wasn't being honest, she was being lazy. She didn't want to put the work in and invest her time in a child, she wanted to shepard the child off. That mindset of the teachers in predominantly black schools kicking kids off is why, especially for black boys, school is so terrible now with regard to black academic achievement.

The difference between suggesting a kid go to a magnet school to get pushed to the best of their ability and saying this place is shytty get your kid out of here while I remain working here collecting a check, should be self evident. One is geared towards challenging a child, the other is geared toward saving yourself work or justifying why you do poor work.

Finally watched the last two episodes


Bruh tell me why the cafeteria workers were scoping Earn shirt out to see if it was fake .

Dusty ass kids weren't rocking any namebrands but still bullied that kid Devin .

That moment where Earn tells Al about people knowing he's not cool reminds me of them in the club and him telling all that ppl aren't intimidated bc they know he drinks juice and shyt


Finale was cool. Kinda upset we have to deal with lame ass Clark all next season , he definitely knows they planted it though


Bryan Tyree Henry better get a nomination this season bc he acted his ass off

The show is so surreal that gaps like that only add to it. Darius serves a purpose much greater than a regular weed carrier, crew member etc, and focusing on how he makes money seems almost pointless. His character transcends all that shyt.

As a matter of fact, it's a disservice to just think about this show as being simply a story about a rapper trying to blow up. This show really reminds me of a modern Odyssey of sort, and I think the show takes on more layers when we begin to attach classic archtypes to the characters. In this case, Darius clearly reminds me of a sort of supernatural sage, something close to a Tiresias. We don't give a fukk about how he eats, we tryna see what wisdom and insight the mfer imparts on the audience!


He gets money tho. When Earn needed money, who hooked him up with the dog hustle. Him and Al were going around trying to find a plug

This show is the deepest thing since the ocean to y’all, huh?
