I think IR is blown out of proportion in the black community but good commentary here. I think there is a lot of pressure to be a black woman and society and most black men are staunchly pro-Black. Some will date out or see non-black men as an option but prefer black men.

But that dialogue between the white gf and the black chick was interesting commentary from both ends.

2 garbage episodes in a row. Show is trying to hard and getting a bit pretentious. The barber episode was the best of the series though imo.

It has to be the jail episode in season one for me.

IR dating seems to afford men more leeway in being able to be vulnerable to me. As a non-black person that's married to a black woman, I think I have a few points in my favor in that it's easier to be my goofy self around her. She'd give the same space for a black man to do it, but many black women probably would not. Conversely, a black guy that dates out may feel that he can show more vulnerability when dealing with other races of women, or those other races of women may actually admire the more conventional stoicism quality from their black partners. Whatever it is, being black in america is a total mind fukk any way you cut it. Just my .02.
