Oxtails be like fukking $4/5lb nowadays..

cheapest I found them was 3.99 at the asian supermarket 2 years back..I got $40 worth..wanna try them in a pressure cooker this time though

Jamaican places are rude more often than not.

And I hate how cheap they are with oxtail. Especially when you WATCH them make your plate. And you see them purposely try to skip over the pieces with a lot of meat, to give you the scrawny ones

3pm called a Jamaican spot about 20min from my house. Wanted to make sure they had patties b4 I made the drive. Nobody picks up, called 3 Times.

My wife had errands to run in the area so we took a chance to stop by.

Walk in the spot and there is 1 customer and 2 workers. I walk up to the counter and ask if they have any chicken patties and of course she’s like no only beef. So then I’m like I called b4 I came and nobody was picking it up is the phone working? She’s says yes it’s working but she was so busy she couldn’t get to the phone, I literally said out loud BUSY there’s nobody here!!!

She then just says no more patties and I’m fukking flummoxed!

No offers to make more. No I’m sorry sir I couldn’t get to the phone. Nothing!

Basically she was like fukk you fukk your money you want what’s left or not??

So I grabbed my wife and left.

Why do Jamaicans run such shytty ass businesses??? I only know of one Jamaican spot that has great customer service.

Came in to agree with OP but now that I think about it most mom and pop places have terrible service until you get to know them like that.

I'mma give y'all tip with Jamaican restaurants 'cause y'all Americans stay getting abused in them bytches...if the Food is fire and you want to keep coming back, try and BUILD UP A RAPPORT with them fools and they'll take care of you.

Granted, this ain't anything anyone should be having to do but it works. I mean I'm Caribbean and the same shyt can and are times does happen to me, but I got out of my way to talk 'em up and flirt with any of the older women there while complimenting the food to the point where they know me and take care of a Breh.

Once again, you shouldn't have to do this just to get good service as a paying customer and you can always take your business elsewhere but going the extra mile with 'em often Garner favorable results.
