I can't state the what hasn't been praised about this project. But just a thought, if Cole wanted a earth shaking response, he should do it over Pac's "Drunken Freestyle" beat. That beat is something up his alley with the real instrumentals being used. Him blacking out on that would have the world at a stand still.

Nah they gotta do something that can be played in clubs lol for the first record at least

But Cole doesn’t drop club records. He has enough of a following and a lot of hip hop fans that would listen

Nah this is one of them situations where you gotta win the general public perception. like that can be played anywhere thus your response has to be the same otherwise you get drowned out no matter how good it is.

At least for the first response. After that then you can get on your lyrical purist shyt as Kendrick would then start showing his hand.

Cole needs an Ether.

Cole is not capable of an Ether.

Therefore Cole will not respond.

Trust me.

Nas, one of the most lyrical MCs on the planet, but he knew he didn't want to get into a battle with Jay-Z's double and triple entendre's and Jay-z's chatty patty "you know who, did you know what". So he responded to the surgical and too-clever-for-it's-own-good Takeover with some ignorant hyperbolic schoolyard bully shyt and went for the first round TKO.

The equivalent of knocking a nikka straight in his face and ending the fight right affer he puts on his black belt and gets into that Taekwondo fighting stance.

Ether was so disrespectful and ignorant. And it did it in a way lyrically that you didn't need a decoder ring or to study the lyrics to get it. There wasn't anything on the planet Jay-Z could respond with. That's why we got Supa Ugly. That's why Jay "lost" (I still think Takeover is the better song but if you remove "Nas's" name it mind as well have been subliminals).

That's what wins in the eyes of the public. Cole doesn't have that in him. Drake might.

Drake getting dissed on the album title track and the other song with Kendrick is not a surprise cause Metro and Drake had beef leading up to the album shyts hilarious.
