I used to think that. But let’s go over what most states do to calculate.

You take the income of the mom and dad and add them together. Let’s say that’s 100k a year. Well that is how much the child would have access to, if y’all stayed together and was married.

They then take those two incomes again, and compare them to each other. Let’s say dad makes 80k and mom makes 20k. Dad makes 80% of the money.

Now the judge gives mom the kid... the dad is now Responsible for his 80% of the income. But since the court can’t take 80%, the judge will take, up to, the max percent.


That’s most states. So it’s never gonna be a flat rate. You’ll never have one parent making millions and the other making 50k. It’s for the KIDS! What’s best for them. Is it better for them to have 2k a month when their parents make a combined 100k a month? Or is the best interest to keep the kid living the life, that reflects both his parents salary?


That’s why it’ll never change. These politicians don’t give two fukks about women. They care about that kid being a rich kids son, yet the rich man pays pennies and fukks over the mom. The kid now has to live in the trap in one house and go see dad in the mansion in Beverly Hills. That’s not a fair life for..... THE KID. And the last thing they want is mom coming for gov money when daddy got plenty

If one parent is rich and the other is not and it’s about the best interest of the child, why not give custody to the rich parent?

Child support should have a $5000 cap, which is more than 99% people make btw. If you can’t raise a child with $60,000 a year extra you are the absolute definition of an unfit parent
