I'm going to piss off some people by saying this, and I sot of don't care, but I don't think this is that serious of an issue from that standpoint, as people make it to be. In regards to hiring and so on, sure, but much of that has to do with interactions with non-black people and society, something I can understand. In terms of fukking and relationships, it all comes across as some serious cope. :manny:
The message is important for young black girls. By that I mean they should be shown their features, skin tone, and just them existing (if they work to improve themselves) is valuable enough. If you’re 25+ and excited that a nikka like Future is “praising” only BW.. then.. :mjlol:

This sentiment sums up my opinion on most social media movements focused around women.. they sound excellent for a younger girls but it only seems the older ones are targeted.

Thanks for the honesty.

So, in all seriousness, why do you think someone’s “light skin was tainting your opinion”?
society. we pedastalized light skin women in black culture of yesterday. not so much these days. but i realized that might be a bias that i once had in my teens. thinking back i missed out on so many dime dark skinned women :mjcry: gotta learn to live with regrets tthough. but i did have my fair share or cinnamon-toned, and brown skin women.

Why do you think it’s so hard for other brehs to openly admit/share this?

It's a serious issue for boogerwolves. But women like:

It's not much of an issue.

When those same boogerwolves can't use the colorism talk angle will pivot to talking about "pretty privilege" and pretty DS Black women having "eurocentric" features.

some of us are self-aware, some aren't. i used to smoke a lot of weed and reflect alone in the woods/conservation areas and did a lot of thought-pattern-shifting by recognizing motivating factors in the decisions i made in life.

Because it may not be true for other brehs.

But if we look at is as a big rampant problem, it is because too many people treat the issue as an original sin put on that person or group and seek to indict and punish that person disproportionately rather than seeking to find and and tackle the root of the very system that, often by their own admission, is the true cause of it. Don't believe me? If we blame white supremacy as the cause of this issue, as we often rightfully do, why is my post one of, if not the first one mentioning it in all the posts in this thread? My point exactly. This is why some have a hard time taking it seriously in the first place.

In any case, too many people come to these arguments looking to hear the opinions rattling around in their head to be reflected back at them, only to call it "truth" and variations of that. This is why these conversations are pointless with some people. :mjlol:

The first part always blew me away because its like a tacit admission of what the true issue is these people have with these women. The latter always made me :dead: because that was that's the same shyt 4cac cacs say to justify finding a black woman attractive. Something needs to be said the for the overlap that exists between some of these groups.

I’ve said this before. If you’re a dark skinned dime you have no problem!!

The question is do the light skinned less attractive women get treated the same way as the dark skinned less attractive women? If not, why?

I will say that you’re right about that— a lot of ppl will point out the features of attractive dark skinned women and say they aren’t African features, which is offensive (although I believe Justine Skye is 25-50% East Indian :jbhmm:).

Light Skin VS Dark Skin VS "Exoticals" is some Goofy Shyt.

Breh's used to get it too, if you are old enough to remember the "Al B Sure/Christopher Williams" Days.

Been called "Blackie" by people who were darker than me, The Self-Hatred is Real.

Growing up in Anti-Black Societies has done a number to many of us.

I've never been caught up in the Shade of a Woman's Skin, Eyes, or Hair Texture.

Seen Dudes give "Average" Chicks "Light Skin Passes", and hype them up for no reason, other than being "Light Skin".

I've even seen Females, get in on the Colorism bullshyt, calling each other "Mud Ducks", "Tar Babies", etc..
And not all of them were "Light Skinned" Either, many of them were Brown and Dark Skinned, SMH

Colorism/Featurism is the b*stard CHILD of White Supremacy, and the Anti-Blackness they pushed upon us.
Sadly many of us have internalized it.
