True, this place was wild in in the early days. Somebody upped a post of mine from 2012 not too long ago, and I was shocked at how brazen it was. If I posted the same thing now I’d get banned ASAP, but at the time nobody cared.

When this site started trolling and f#ckery wasn’t just accepted, but it was promoted.

I was one of the first mods and I was an admitted troll and shyt disturber. A lot of the OG mods had been banned on SOHH at one time or another. Mods engaging in fukkery was appreciated as it added to the lawless attitude that people wanted. Times have changed.

Social Media as a whole in 2012 was wild, it was like the fukkery in 2019 turned to 100. Nobody really gave a fukk about what they posted.

Definitely don’t doubt it but I was a 10 year old in the mid 2000s so I can only go by what I saw on TV and some things were definitely accepted that aren’t in 2019.

But back to 2012, remember that video of that bus driver uppercutting that lady? I think there would be a different reaction to that video in 2019, think pieces about black men being violent and shyt.

All kinds of slurs used to fly recklessly in the early 2000’s on places like sohh but we didn’t have the kind of instantaneous/ direct access to one another we do now.


This era is just different in the sense that a snapshot of a person being an a$$hole during a phase in life can fukk up your whole shyt going forward. Especially if you’re not being authentic

TBH, I have mixed feelings about some of this. Some of these posts are reflections of the culture at the time, much like Eddie Murphy's gay jokes from the 80's or James Gunn's catholic priest tweets. Black twitter used to love to engage in team light skin team dark skin battles something that has gotten a lot people called out for colorism, people get in trouble for 07 homophobic tweets back when most of America felt the same I feel that it's dishonest to try to cancel peole under those circumstances.

But there is also shyt that flew that should've never been cool and we also had posters who like to grandstand while having these awful posts in their history. I'm talking about Manny Manhattan being a non afro latino calling posters ******s on a majority black forum and Goddamnprofessor constantly accusing tsc posters of hating women while being a grown man lusting after underage Disney starlets. They can stay gone

We don’t disagree. There are certain lines that shouldn’t be crossed and a lot of TSC alumni hop skipped all over those lines.

So I wake up, and my social group, Why Don't You Take A Seat Over Here, is gone....

Just wanted to know, which one of you fakkits got your feelings hurt and deleted it?

There are threads here that attack my own sensibilities, but I don't complain or report shyt, I just ignore them.

What the hell is the point of the private social groups if they can just be tampered with? They aren't threads, they are entire groups of like-minded individuals.

What was wrong with it? Nobody was posting anything that we wouldn't post in JBO (Although, with the disappearing acts on this forum, maybe this isn't a good example anymore), in fact, it was more or less just a group for those of a certain taste to represent, we weren't really planning on "doing" anything outside of maybe sharing some piff every now and again and building more members.

It was a social group to be private....you literally defeat the purpose of them when you just delete them willy nilly. For all the hoopla over Sohh's failures, more than enough of the same shyt seems to be going down over here.

And yeah, I'm "mad", because it felt like a pretty condescending and unnecessary move. I think there is over 100 groups, most of them don't have anything happening in them, the ones that do are mostly rep battling. It's more about having the "badge". You didn't give any warning or show any concern, we wake up and shyt is gone.

Please keep your sensibilities to yourself next time....

Dog there was a pic of a little girl like 8-12 w/ a tanktop on w/ no bra in that group, i didnt even need to look at the other pics, deleted that bullshyt right then & there.

I can't even hate on this era anymore dudes went unbanned after making pedo groups in 2012 and people thought that shyt was just jokes going a little too far.
