Anthony Joshua: Tyson Fury welcomes sparring offer for Deontay Wilder bout

Tyson Fury says he would "love" to take up Anthony Joshua's offer of sparring before he faces Deontay Wilder.

Fury, 31, drew with WBC world heavyweight champion Wilder in 2018 and is set for a rematch on 22 February.

Joshua, who holds the IBF, WBA and WBO belts, feels Fury would be more likely to agree to a fight for all four titles and offered to help his fellow Briton.

"I would love to have you in camp, work out for this fight and give Deontay Wilder a proper beating," said Fury.

"I hope you mean it, as I'd love to have you in training camp with me. When I do beat Wilder I will fight you AJ no problem."

Fury offered his "congratulations" to Joshua for his win over Andy Ruiz Jr on 7 December, where he reclaimed his world titles after losing to the Mexican in June.

Joshua says he has already been "studying" Oleksandr Usyk, who he could face in the short term given the Ukrainian fighter's status as mandatory challenger with the WBO.

Bulgaria's Kubrat Pulev is also a mandatory challenger with the IBF, meaning the prospect of any fight between Joshua and Fury or Wilder still appears some time away.

Fury's bout with 34-year-old Wilder is said to be taking place in Las Vegas, although no venue has yet been confirmed for the bout.

:patrice: I don't know how to take this

Lol a lot of panties in a bunch from fan girls as usual. This shyt is so minor yet people making a big deal out of it.

Breaking news, fighter spars other fighter in camp. They aren't "teaming up" on some Marvel shyt, they aren't friends, he's not his trainer, he just said he would help him by sparring in camp. He wants that undisputed fight bad and since Wilder refuses to fight him he's thinking maybe seeing Fury might help make the fight if he wins.

This isn't too much different from Michael Hunter training with Ruiz in camp, Hunter wants to fight everyone, especially the champs but he still was in the camp. Dubois I think was in a rivals camp at some point not long ago. This shyt happens all the time.

It has some interest because of the profile of the 2 fighters and because they are rivals themselves but fighters are in eachother's camps all the time, Chisora sparred AJ for the Ruiz preparation and Chisora if he beat Whyte was looking to fight AJ himself.

He probably wants to spar Fury to learn more, after he got defeated by Ruiz he seems to have more desire again to improve his craft. Top sparring is always good. He may learn a few things about Fury and Wilder from sparring Fury, it sounds tactical and about gaining information, he will learn something about both if they spar and since he's the 1 who actually wants the fights he wants to prepare, it's a smart move from AJ. How much it will benefit Fury I'm not sure, will keep him sharp, motivated and in shape I guess but Wilder and AJ have different styles so it won't be a like for like. Unless he tries to adapt and replicate a Wider style.

Wilder is going to be furious about this, he seems to get very irrational and emotional when it comes to AJ, I guess fear can make people act in strange ways. He should relax and stick to the game plan, this shouldn't effect or bother him at all, it's just a spar, they've sparred already back in the day.

The weakest shyt I’ve seen so far.:mjlol:

Boxing professionals and fans all say Wilder can’t box yet two men want to team up together to beat one man? No wonder AJ don’t want to fight Wilder. :russ:
Never mind the fact there is literally NOTHING Joshua can teach or help Fury with to better his chances against Wilder...

Joshua style (stiff robotic no head movement) is exactly what Fury needs to avoid if he plans on keeping his ass off the canvas in the rematch...

I never put people on ignore on here but Seeing walls of text of you defending any UK boxing criticism is really tempting me to :gucci:

Put me on ignore, I couldn't care less. Everything I said was completely reasonable and there was no "defending" of anyone. A lot of dikkriders here seem to be butthurt by the truth and objectivity. It's like I'm spoiling their delusion and irrational hatred with the truth. I will critique or praise any fighter, I couldn't care less where they come from.

People are acting disgusted, outraged and emotional about another fighting saying they would spar another fighter? When they've already sparred and the new spar hasn't even happened yet and may not even happen.

But they are making it out like it's some devious intricate masterplan, it's not, he made a throwaway comment about how he'd spar him, may not happen and if it does so what? It's absolutely irrelevant for people to get emotional about.

Sparring AJ with his style isn't going to greatly help Fury, not in terms of the tactical technical side of the game anyway. Wilder and AJ fight differently so people are crying for no reason at all. There's nothing to be mad about, I would say exactly the same if Fury offered to spar Wilder if Wilder and AJ were fighting. Michael Hunter is on DAZN and sparred Ruiz and nobody said anything or got upset, but apparently fan girls are emotionally shattered now and throwing a pity party and creating conspiracy theories over something that hasn't even happened.
