It doesnt have much popularity and the ones that have some funk has it mixed with other elements most of the time.

The songs you just posted they had mainly Funk back then while most things with Funk today only have elements that are mixed with other things most of the time.

Funk is a popular music form...the songs in question are sampling and basing their sounds from these songs just like Hiphop and the subgenre G-Funk sampled from them. G Funk is P-Funk and synthy Funk with elements of HipHop.

Most of those songs I posted are pure Funk musically. The two Bruno Mars songs and Dam Funk are even Funk with the singing. Pure Funk in it's many forms are still being made. I forgot Brass Band funk

because there are newer genres of music..remember HipHop is what picked the mantle up from Funk/Disco and kept the groove going









...so the Funk the never left, it was just in a newer form, Even the R7B thatttt came in the 90's was based in these same Funk sounds

More like a downgrade to me.

It's barely lingering in samples and traces in songs.

They had full albums of funk and now we got singles and shyt
