Tim curry did not look like a friendly clown breh. I was probably 4 when my parents were watching this movie and he looked like a straight up demon to me as a kid

He looked like a goofy ass clown breh. Clowns can be inherently creepy anyway, but there was nothing threatening about him most of the time.

I'm gonna reserve judgement on this until I see more and/or a trailer.

You know, another thing.. they don't know how to market this character. You don't get a picture of him looking at us like he's the devil, slap some Photoshop filters over it and make it all sinister and obviously evil.

You have the clown aesthetic.. use it to your advantage damn it. The reason Tim Curry induced a fear of clowns in so many people is because at first glance he looks innocent but there's something unsettling about him. A picture like this conveys that feeling:

Until he was actively fukking with people Curry's Pennywise looked like a generic happy clown. That is what made him so effectively creepy.
This version looks like he wants to eat your soul and that sort of belies the point of Pennywise taking the form of a clown to begin with.

Pretty much. Back then he could pass for a Ronald McDonald character or a bootleg version of him but then you see something isn't quite right..

The way he talked to you

The way he stares at you

The way he laughed...

...and before you knew it..

They didnt care back in the days and would put raw shyt on TV all the time...I miss that.

It's exactly how I expect a film that's missing the point to make him look.


This is poltergeist remake all over gone until further notice.

Trailers gonna have to be incredible for me to give this even a chance.

Not really feeling the look but oh well. Hopefully there is a playfully looking version too as well. I mean pennywise cant be menacing looking throughout the whole movie.

Looks scary enough...but its not as creepy as the original.

Maybe its because Ive seen the original movies though.
