Chyna did it but she didn't have 12 title reigns before hand. :francis:

One, Chyna was an anomaly during her heyday. No woman could physically match her.

Two, Chyna was always portrayed as someone who could conceivably take down men in certain situations.

Charlotte has NEVER been portrayed on that level. She's just tall.

She works against Rey or Ricochet? Cool. But her against Kevin Owens or Sheamus? Looks pretty silly. If she was a luchadore? It works out better but she isnt.

No one is going to mention how they had Io pin Rhea to win the title off Charlotte? Charlotte seemingly went to NXT and buried Rhea. Rhea had so much momentum before running into Charlotte too :dead:

Seems that way... but maybe they could have avoided that if they didn't strap the rocket to Rhea -- who is can't miss and most certainly the future of women's wrestling in WWE -- and gave her everything so quickly, which did involve her pinning Charlotte in a triple threat match.

If you're strapping the rocket, go all the way. Don't do what they did.

What was the point of Charlotte winning the title?

Both Rhea and Bianca, the next generation of stars, are weaker than they were before she went down there.

Io is someone that should've had the belt and didn't pin Charlotte to win it.

I mean in a more serious situation. Not joke scenarios like that or the 24/7 deal.

Like Impact did with Tessa.

I get you.

In that case, would we need women's titles or divisions in any form? Seems redundant if women can challenge for men's titles, IMO.

Exactly why the women should not compete for the men's.

If you end one barrier you have to end the other and then all barriers are broken and there are no longer divisions and it's all the same and things become meaningless.

I really want to hate the over push of Charlotte, but seeing as she indeed is one of the best female workers I've ever seen in WWE :yeshrug:

Really? I can name at least ten WWE female wrestlers off the top of my head who are/were better than Charlotte.

Wendi Richter
Both Jumping Bomb Angels
Alundra Blayze / Madusa
Bull Nakano
Trish Stratus
Lita
Molly Holly
Gail Kim
Mickie James
Beth Phoenix
Sasha Banks
Becky Lynch
Bayley
Asuka
Kairi Sane
Io Shirai

She's basically Edge pre-retirement. Good/solid promo. GREAT look (tall, athletic, blue eyes/white privilege) and family lineage. Multiple time world champion for sure, but their number of reigns are egregious all things considered. Charlotte might be a better's women's wrestler than Edge was as a men's wrestler though, but you could count on one hand the amount of folk that has had moments reserved for them to the level they have been for Charlotte.

Main difference is that with Edge, the way his character went about business it ALMOST makes sense he was an 11 or 12-time world champion or whatever he was. He wasn't pushed as like this dominant grappler or whatever. He just had a knack for capitalizing on openings in a very slimy fashion. He'd worm his way in and steal the title. He closely aligned himself with the decision-maker during his Smackdown reign of terror.

With Charlotte, not only is she finding her way involved with EVERYTHING, the way she is portrayed is that it is CLEARLY apparent that the only person who could beat Charlotte straight up is Becky Lynch on her BEST day or MAYBE Io Shirai (at the first sign of deep trouble, Charlotte gets herself DQ'd. Happened with Ronda too). With how deep and talented the women's division is across all the brands, there is NO logical reason for there to be a 12-time champion or for a woman to hold the belt for a year.

Her matches aren't seen in the same light as Sasha though. Sasha has had better carry jobs and has had good matches with everybody. Charlotte almost seemed in shock over hod good Io was in her shoot interview after their first match.
