I'm a 2000s high-schooler and this is somewhat accurate. There was some beefing and one kid i knew even got stabbed but that was off school grounds. Couldve just been MY school but people weren't fighting like that on school time.

It was but my school was more chill. Instead of fighting each other they would fight the kids in the neighborhood. My middle school was worse than high school . I knew a kid who killed 3 people, anotheer kid shot a police, there were kids robbing the high schoolers across the street and kids using heroin. I went to a pretty good school though.

If you attended any black middle or high school back in the late 90s, when DMX blew up.......it was HELL ON EARTH! Fights popped off if you even breathed wrong and minding your own business didn't make things any better. You had to be on savage mode 24/7, or else people will roast you for half the school year (especially when people had higher attention spans back then).

You had to stay fresh like a rapper, rock the right sneakers, and had to roll with the right crew, because life would come at you fast and you would be food. Super thugs, going to class with jailbirds, people 2 years older than you built like grown men since they got left back twice, brehs cutting class like nothing, people getting their lockers robbed, cats getting their books stolen, people watching porn images on the library.

That was legitimately like jail.
