I love True Detective S1 to death. The on-screen chemistry between McConaughey and Harrelson, the writing, Lovecraft tone, and overall darkness of it makes it one of my all-time favorites. However, what made me put Breaking Bad S5 over TD S1 was Walt's downfall.

Another thing is that it didn't start off slow.

I'll cosign this. I thought True Detective S1 was good, but it was also VASTLY overrated. I'll take BB S5, Fargo S1 & S2, and hell....The Wire Season 2 over True Detective Season 1. Yep, I said it.

Yeah, the diner scene where Walt old business partners was talking crazy about him on TV and Hank's death scene was the only highlights of BB season 5 to me




When I started watching BB I'd never expected Hank's death scene to play out like that, I'd always thought Walt would eventually end up killing him.





I'd take SOA season 4 over BB season 5 as well.

When I started watching BB I'd never expected Hank's death scene to play out like that, I'd always thought Walt would eventually end up killing him.

If that happened, then the writing team would have accomplished what they were attempting to do throughout season 5: make us hate Walt as much as everyone else did.

Not trying to be a dikk, but "The Wire" is FAR from a procedural, like, it's not even arguably a procedural. I'd look up what a procedural entails if I were you

"Fargo" is the best show I've seen in years, in terms of quality it's just elite. I never thought they'd top season 1, season 2 already has. If season 3 somehow ends up being better than the 2nd, prematurity be damned, it's going in my top 5.

If you think "The Wire" is a 'procedural' you're not even close to knowing what a procedural entails.

Its much more then that, but the Baltimore PD storyline is essentially a procedural. Unless you define procedurals as crime dramas that cover multiple cases each season
