:yeshrug: Switch therapists. Not all are good at their jobs. I go for a monthly check up with mine now but before I was going weekly ( I was stressed the fukk out ) you just need to find a therapist you love and feel that cares.

My psychiatrist told me i need to see a therapist not just take meds

i just got done with a black woman(i specifically wanted one) therapist and this bytch only told me to go look up stress management on youtube

yes therapy works, but it wont work if theres slight doubt.

The idea is you are too close to your own life to think about what is really going on and the context of why. Therapy, especially CBT, is designed to choose either a thought, emotion, or behavior and begin to unravel it,


Since your thoughts emotions and behavior are tied together, by fixing one you effect the others. So getting clarity, understanding what you need to accept or what is in your power, snd coming with a plan of action that holds you accountable is a huge deal

I do these things but i am having hard time managing it thats i went to therapy. Im thinking there is an uderlying problem i need help with
i quit drinking and drugs a year ago
lost 100 pounds
stay on diets
no friends
i got investments, more clothes on the way etc...

but im still not happy

fix that no friends part first humans are social creatures thats one of the reasons i get depressed especially during lockdowns i had to learn and relearn how to put myself out there more and take chances..... and find a new therapist. i read that you were molested. Yeah you need to speak to another black man and open up to him. He will understand you more than a woman unless you are a woman.

Realize the goal isnt to be happy. Happy is a temporary emotion. The goal is to find peace, not saying dont let yourself get down or feel emotions but eventually return to a state of peace. Money and investing is great but it doesnt equal fulfillment. You didnt mention something that makes you get out of bed in the morning. Try to find a hobby or passion, just try different things until you find something that makes you go "damn i like this shyt". Even if it doesnt make you money. I recommend something creative or something that gets your mind working like writing, art, programming, maybe try bodybuilding comps etc.

I also recommend you pick up a book called Meditations by Marcus Aurelius, learn a little about stoicism, start meditating also. This helped me a lot. and i know everything im saying is easier said than done. But just trying is a success .
