Don't nobody at welterweight punch like spence, he is a real puncher, they gotta be able to stand up to that heat to test, but I don't see anyone with those type of capabilities to stand under that fire.

Spence is nice.

He has to pass the chin test.

You should know that by now.

If the chin is there, then dude is going to be a real problem.

Thurman is a huge banger, Deigo Chaves has very heavy hands as well.

Not like this. You see the type of leverage he was putting behind those punches, algeria might have shytted on himself.

Thurman's power ain't like spence, he lands accurate blows on soft areas of like the temple and the spot above the ear to get his knock downs, he ain't being punishing guys like that since he stepped up comp

it's like Ward said, everybody label him a puncher too early in his career until he started fighting only the best and stopped scoring the KO's as frequently.

Thurman is a boxer puncher, but he don't got the type of firepower spence got. He got Ray Leonard type power might have more.

CHeck out his fight against Lartay, should still be on Youtube.
Lartay isn't a heavy handed fighter, but he had Spence hurt badly and holding on.
That fight is what leads me to believe he doesn't have a iron chin, but he is defensively sound and doesn't regularly get hit cleanly, but enough when trading to be worrying against a power counter puncher like a Garcia and a guy who can land with a bang occasionally like thurman, so I would be careful and not buy too much into this fight and move him up in opposition too fast.

yeah lartay is the guy. spence was also in mid swing.

he fought way to reckless that fight and he has improved defense.

Exactly the thing I take away from watching him. His body shots sound like Leonard's...fukking shotgun blasts.

Nobody can beat this kid at 147. Would live to see him vs Tim Bradley. Spence will not lose to anybody. The negga is strong accurate with great boxing skills. He'd fukk Danny up. They better build em up. Floyd been saying there's no way Thurman beats Spence and neggas thought he was stanning.

Seriously there is nobody at 147 that can beat Spence and that includes Pacquiao
I was waiting to see this fight so Spence could prove he had next and now I definitely don't feel like it is going out on a limb with that statement. 147 is a very good division with a lot of talented fighters, but no one who I thought was exceptionally great. With Floyd gone and Pacquiao near done, it looked like a division full of pretenders, albeit interesting pretenders. I think Spence is the one dude I have seen that can rise above and be a historically good fighter.

I think @Newzz was saying he might move to 154 in the not to distant future. I like Spence better at 147. He certainly can be great at 154, but he will find guys with more height and length than he has.

Edit:
And :martin: at the Browne fight. He got a bogus KD, held most of the fight, and clearly got outworked and had the harder punches landed on him. Once it went to decisions said watch him get the decision and once it was a split it was for sure. :scust:

Yeah but I don't think there's guys who can stand and bang with him, he got rugged attack, nikka ain't bullshytting in there, you gotta have your wits about to stand up to that type of assault, algeri could normally out run guys, he ran from Manny but he couldn't come close to getting away from spence, he got hawked down like a falcon swooping on prey

Algeri isn't a major 147 fighter, he is a natural 140 guy and moved up to 147 to fight Khan and stayed there. Algeri would probably have usffered the same fate against Thurman.
Spence is a blue chip prospect, we don't know what he will do at the higher levels though when he gets there though so lets hold off a bit on crowning him king and let him show us if he is the truth.
That said there are a great deal of high level fighters at 147 with the current elite being Bradley and thurman right now. Spence keeps growing each fight, refining his skill and adding new wrinkles he'll be able to prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that he is what you and I think he will be.

Is it fair to say Chris at this point is better than Guerrero?

I think Algeri/Guerrero makes more sense to find out.

I think Spence needs to continue his development by fighting a completely different style altogether in his next fight.
