The Browns couldn't trade Myles because it would have cost them big time against the cap along with not getting true value for him. They needed a extension to move $$$ around and try to fix this team asap. This was the only move that help both sides (Garrett get his $$$ while the FO get cap flexibility to fix this mess).

Watson is a sunk cost, so ignore that contract. They can draft Cam Ward / Sanders and see what happens. Go get Russ or something if you want a bridge. If you trade Garrett, the return would be unknown. Now you locked up a top 5 NFL talent and can have a rookie QB with upside potential. Fair play if you ask me.

They've paid him out to about $40 something million left in 2026 when he can play again. He's on a manageable contract now.
