He really used the "rotting meat/broken fridge" excuse for years and years and got away with it...grandma, dad, everyone that came across that smell willfully played along. Like the cop said we're hardwired to be repulsed by that smell. At first I was like how you not calling a repairman if the smell persists?

Then I thought about how it went deeper than that. You're a grandma that loves your grandson, can't even fathom him doing some shyt like that. Same for his dad. I think that's hardwired also. All the evidence is in your face but you don't want to believe it because you love this person.

His dad has a lot of culpability, complete enabler...who shows a 6 year old kid how to dissect roadkill, then goes out hunting for roadkill?

One of the best performances I’ve seen all year he killed the role especially when you watch the interviews after and see how the real dahmer talks and his mannerisms. Definitely I expect an Emmy nod or a win for this.

Dude nailed that dull, nasal Wisconsin accent...and the whole nonchalant attitude

As bothersome as this series was to watch, it really stuck with me, and is something I can't forget and can't help thinking about. The social issues get me fukking irate, and the police involvement (or lack therof) get's my blood boiling.

True but his dad was on some "finally! something he's into and we can bond" Remember his home was in shambles and mom was batshyt. I think his dad was looking at it as an academic interest.

I get that...but that's still warped, and a 6 year old is too young to process all that. The dad should be smart enough to be able to position that interest into something a bit healthier, such as animals in general, a trip to the zoo, specific animals, a pet maybe...shortsighted parenting

Honestly I enjoyed it I like the fact that they really drove the point home that this could have been avoided if wasn't for police not valuing black and brown life.

I don’t think that actually happened. That was something they just put in the show.

From what I read and heard on the "dahmer tapes" doc, it seemed to be true. The two of them def dissected animals and bleached the skeletons and shyt

Oh it was necessary and factual. The factual part is why it's so disturbing to me.
