Can't find a game online. shyt takes forever to find a match

I need a new character it seems 
The more I play as Raiden the more I recognize his deficiencies. The best damage dealing variation is Thunder God, but he can't get in consistently without a EX fly, Disruptor is viable against every character but the damage output isn't enough
I'm pretty solid with Liu Kang so I might switch over to him, though I'm starting to think that the characters with the greatest advantage have a teleport, since they're immune to zoning and can pretty much punish everything on reaction.

Got my ass whooped most of the time, beat goro though
I gotta step my punish game up, Im getting to the point where I can figure out the next move and block it, but I can't get anything high damage to counter.
Any tips?

smh happened to me too...everytime i was on my way down dude kicked me and i bounced up like round ball and he laid another combo on me didn't help i was stuck in the corneri played my 1st game online and damn
my feet aint touch the ground the whole match
