Haven't really been keeping up with preseason, I see the record and I'm intrigued. Is Big Al still a black hole or what?
What's new with the squad?? Catch me up...
@42 Monks @Tobias
I'll rap (I'm not a preseason stat believer on the individual level, those kinds of stats are dumb as fukk but there are little things that you can note in preseason regardless)
Against Miami, we went 15-25 from 3. Good shots.
We almost NEVER took 15 good
total shots in a game last year. If you haven't caught preseason games at all to this point, let me go ahead and say that our offense for the first time in ever, looks like a modern NBA offense. I am NOT saying that we'll be blowing people out of the water. Not at all. I'm saying that our offense won't routinely stall out every game and that our ball movement will be at the very least average or above average. Al's lost weight and it shows. He's no longer going to be the key reason our offensive was one of the most predictable in the league because he's able to move out to mid-range again which allows people to use the baseline to cut again finally. Kaminsky and Cody are excellent passers as well. Really surprised and impressed by both. I thought that Cody was gonna be a step behind after his shoulder injury at the end of last season but he looks like he hasn't missed a step.
Lin really has a shot at taking Kemba's job - and no one should be mad. Its preseason, Kemba is the kind of guy to coast now... so its possible he may turn the fukk up like we haven't seen when the season starts (I actually expect this), but Lin is a good fit for this team. He's a naturally better passer and better defender whether people want to believe it or not. The spot is Kemba's to lose though.
Lamb has been okay. Not bad, pretty good at times, but he's not some diamond in the rough superstar SG that a lot of people were talking him up to be. He could be a good swingman for us though. I honestly don't think he's any better than PJ - management seems to feel the same way as they aren't ready to give up on him at all.
Spencer and Hansborough won't be consistent liabilities. They are actually growing on me.
Batum is solid and he's a gonna make the loss of MKG this year hurt a lot less than it should've.
Really concerned about the defense still, but I'm really happy with how the team looks so far outside of the scoreboard and win column.
