Not worth the risk. In this era of basketball, a random team could have a random lights out three point shooting night. Imagine you tank for 7th place, then lose the first play-in game, cause your opponent for some reason was hitting all threes, and you end up fighting for 8th seed to go against 65+ win OKC.
