I don't recall you saying this type of shyt when Bron started the season looking every bit of 40 and AD was carrying the team. On some nights Bron was the worst defender on the floor, wasn't getting back...you had a different tone then.

I wonder why? :skip:
Because LeBron has a 5-6 year history of starting a season slow, then being a top 5-7 player in the NBA

Hell even in 2020 people were saying Lebron is washed now, to start the year and they won the chip and were the #1 seed

Let’s use our brains

The concerns about his weight, conditioning, and lateral movement are very valid. Always have been. No argument there.

The discussion points about “what does he do better than bron?” or “will he ever be that guy again?” are asinine. Arguably the greatest playoff riser of the last 25 years. Second best playoff scorer after Jordan. He was fat and bleeding from his knees against the Wolves last year and we saw how the WCF went.

He’s mentally rattled from being discarded and slandered after being lead to believe he was Dirk/Jeter/Kobe for his franchise. He’s rusty and poorly conditioned. And now he’s second fiddle to a primary ball handler and playmaker which he’s probably never experienced in his life.

Real Luka era begins in October after a full offseason. And I’d bet on him being plenty effective again by these playoffs.

Lakers shouldn’t have to wait until the playoffs

They have a tough schedule over the next month and change

If Luka is gonna average 15-17 PPG and be the worst defender on the floor, then the Lakers aren’t gonna have to worry about the playoffs cause they won’t be in it
I only mentioned playoffs in the context of Luka being a playoff riser.Presently, you still have to extend him a little grace period to play himself back into shape.I think he's going to be ok.Unless the Mavs secretly knew he was damaged goods & decided sell the Lake Show a lemon. That's the only scenario where I see Luka not getting back to the level we're accustomed to seeing him play at.

Bro people aren't seeing the bigger picture. This Luka-Bron duo could be something similar to Magic and Kareem with a young phenomenon teaming up with a GOAT vet.
Once they figure out how to get each other touches in the most effective way like Luka and Kyrie did this team is gonna be box office. Surround them with high iq hard working teammates and this team should be contenders every year.

Luka is completely out of shape and only getting worse as the years go by… he was let go by the Mavs because they realized he isn’t getting healthier, he isn’t taking care of his body

Why do people think he suddenly is going to turn into LeBron over an offseason and be be in top shape?

He’s gotten worse every year.

I think he’ll eventually be fine, but he’s gonna continue to go through injuries and issues because he frankly doesn’t care to take care of humaelf

My friend, Kareem was in his early 30s when him and Magic linked up. This is more Dirk/Luka where the old head is gonna have to leave to properly build around Luka. Y'all just not seeing the vision

I still have faith in Luka and i do believe he's going to rise again but if we're being honest right now, he was kinda ass this game, there's no way around it :pachaha:

40 year old Lebron is an older player's early 30s. He wont be washed for a few more years the longevity is different with Bron:manny:

Funny how Laker fans are giving Luka the benefit of the doubt when it’s been a clear pattern.

I’m not seeing enough slander of him getting cooked on D.

If this was LeBron..
Luka was never a good defender. Lebron was. Different standards. Kinda like Steph Curry, Luka never has to be a good defender he just needs to not be awful so his defense isn't a net negative when combined with his offense.
Bron gets it cuz he's in the GOAT discussion so he's always highly scrutinized. But when you in that discussion that's what comes with it :manny:

I think this is accurate. Luka has shown that he can do amazing things even while nursing nagging injuries but those things get worse over time. I think that judging him currently after being out for an extended amount of time, the move to a new team is silly but there are question marks over his long term health. I think if he adopts a new mindstate and is pissed about being slandered and discarded from a team he expected to be with for life, he could be better than ever (assuming the calf thing hasn't become chronic), however if he maintains the sort of Euro attitude of basketball isn't the end all/be all, I like my beers. I like my food, then it could get messy.
