Role players generally don't have that luxury and are more likely to sign with the highest bidder. There's been more than a few solid role players in the last couple years that signed for the MLE (Bruce Brown, Oubre, DDV, Jones, Marshall, Schroeder) that Rob could have made an offer for instead of targeting the likes of Vincent and Nunn.I'm not making excuses I'm just asking the questions.

Also, I feel like the folks you mentioned are all higher caliber players (can command more than MLE) than the folks the Lakers have ended up with. Maybe not Hield. Derozan is just talking.
