Also, I feel like the folks you mentioned are all higher caliber players (can command more than MLE) than the folks the Lakers have ended up with. Maybe not Hield. Derozan is just talking. He's not so into the Lakers that he was willing to take a cut. I don't recall Jamal Murray wanting to be a Lakers.

Role players generally don't have that luxury and are more likely to sign with the highest bidder. There's been more than a few solid role players in the last couple years that signed for the MLE (Bruce Brown, Oubre, DDV, Jones, Marshall, Schroeder) that Rob could have made an offer for instead of targeting the likes of Vincent and Nunn.

He was playing great for his age but similar to AD the impact clearly has diminished.

If they could have gotten a top 5 guy to pair with AD/Bron then we’d be having a different discussion but it wasn’t realistic. Instead we get y’all coming into every season thinking this team is actually doing anything lol
