From a Kayfabe Perspective, Why Hasn't Sting Gotten a Title Run?

I know people will harp on his age; but in terms of presentation, Sting is the most physically dominating (and most indestructible) wrestler on the AEW roster.
Sting has decimated entire crews practically by himself, he's never been pinned, and he eats signature moves for lunch.

Nobody has been able to hurt Stang. He's diving through tables, no selling offense, and laughing off chairshots at 87 years old. This new version of Sting is like mixing Sabu with Terry Funk, giving him a half ounce of pure Columbian flake, and then putting his sliders on max.
Besides, Sting beat prime Vader, Hulkkk Hoegan, and Muta. Moxley & his shoulder rolling would be light work for the Man They Call the Man They Call.
