Coach wasn't ready for a nikka like Voodoo...

yet. He ain't know how to deal with that young, gifted and black ego and aggression then. Yeah, he had Smash, but that was bout it then, and even Smash took a few years for coach to really get to him. Now East Dillon Coach Taylor would have grabbed him by his facemask, hit him with a speech that would not only make him a better player and person, but also motivate his parents to become better at their jobs, get promotions, and get their family out of the hotel without the help of boosters, and had him a guaranteed #1 pick by his Sr year of high school. CLEAR EYES, FULL HEARTS, CAN'T LOSE! That's my coach. :to:

Damn...I never thought about it like that :ohhh:

It does seem odd that he was cool with Vince and not Voodoo.

1st year head coach trying to establish himself vs 4th and 5th year coach who's been through a lot of different situations with all kinds of personalities. Probably a better judge of character by then too. Could see past the attitude.
