Well the interview clip was from 95 so you're right...but I'm saying the phrase wasn't popularized like that amongst the general public, that's all.

And I agree with the ODB thing..it clearly made no sense. Especially given the time period and the rapper

i don't think the show really has a vested interest in sticking to the hiphop timeline like that. i'm approaching it as.. if it happened in the 90s, it's fair game.

Yea and I'm sure many white kids did it (which I'm sure happened because we know racist white people ways) yet it wasnt shown because wel all know the scene wouldn't even of been put into the show.

The fact that the black kid called him that is a bit more powerful than if a white kid did it tho because it's that kid saying that Eddie is at the bottom of the totem pole now. Meanwhile the white kids are just a$$holes to him for the most part

what do you expect though? this show isn't even being ran by an Asian person and that's Eddie's beef with the show. they turned his childhood into malcolm in the middle when it was far from that. the network execs are white, the audience is going to be majority white and it runs on a disney owned network. it was never going to be anything more than a PG sitcom made palatable for white audiences.

still, it's a good show and it has its moments. and i'm glad that there's a show with Asian faces on TV.
