Free Weight vs. Machines...

How much of your weighted workouts consist of free weights as opposed to machines? I'm around 80% free weights right now. There are some good machines at my gym but for some reason I have the impression that they are somewhat off a hindrance. Thoughts? :jbhmm:

I'm probably about 50/50 now that I think about it. But they are little accessory shyt. Tricep cable machine, lateral raises machine, t bar rows, cable rows, hamstring curls. All my big compounds.... bench, shoulder press, weighted chins, squats.... free weights.

I mainly use machines. I do use barbells for basic squats and presses and kettlebell swings and lifts.
I don't do any of the 'powerlifts'.
