As long as they get the training to go with it, which they are, I see no problem with it. My friends brother had his house broken into not too long ago and he tried to defend his home and property with a bat and got shot seven times. He lived, but is now paralyzed from the waist down.

I'm not saying a gun is the answer to everything but I think that situation woulda played out different if he had a gun.
