Team has begun interviewing GM candidates.
Our 2019-20 cap situation:
Washington Wizards 2019-20 Salary Cap
Parker's $20M team option will no doubt be declined.
Mahinmi's $15M salary could be stretched over 3 years, freeing up another $10M this summer but perhaps the wise thing to do is ride this terrible deal out another year.
Howard has opted in.
Wall's salary jumps as his supermax kicks in.
Thomas Bryant is bounded by the Gilbert Arenas rule meaning since he was a 2nd round pick and has less than 3 years of experience, no team can offer him more than MLE in year 1 and a 4.5% raise of that in year 2. No brainer to re-sign or match an offer though the Center market has a lot of bodies this summer and I don't know if a poison pill deal that jacks up his salary in the 3rd year will be out there.
I think Satoransky will be retained as we have bird rights and RFA matching rights... and there's literally no other healthy PG on the roster.
Jeff Green wants to re-sign, I don't have a problem with him on the minimum.
Ariza's caphold is $18M.. he ain't getting nowhere near that for obvious reasons.
What does the roster need? Well, everything. Wiz lack a PF who can play defense and rebound. Wiz lack youth on the wings outside of Brown Jr. due to Ernie's dumbass.
I don't care if Portis or Parker are back... out of the two, Parker as a 6th man type is fine, I guess.
But there is hope! An innovative mind can field a competitive roster in the East with a top pick and a lot of room under the luxury tax.
