:rudy: AB ain't Floyd B. And already got an L. There is no mysterious around whether or not he can be beat and no arch-rival to pitch either. He was supposed to take that 8 mil a year and run because he wont be seeing that any time soon. Highest purse was 1.2 million and he lost that fight.

He didnt take the money and on top of that was disrespectful to what could be the next great boxing promotion company.

If he didn't take that L to Maidana he would be well on his way, he got a minor set back but he's one big fight away from being catapulted to the top, which is why he's calling out guys like marquez an pacquiao, and trying to get a rematch with Maidana

Floyd was 30 when he got his first mega fight with De La Hoya, he didn't become money mayweather until after that fight
Broner 25, he got time, when pac loses to Mayweather, broner is another big fight for him at 140

Also with the NBC deal, Haymon can use it to market Danny and Broner and build up to a mega fight between them two

they all seen what haymon did with floyd's career, jay-z hasn't proven anythihg yet even though he's done well signing great fighters like Ward, he still gotta show he can get ward big fights

Yeah, but when PBF was 25, he was already P4P. More than PBF-DLH was a big money fight, it was the best fighter of today vs the biggest draw of yesterday. Floyd was already at the top P4P, something that Broner can't seem to do.

If anyone is the next PPV star its GGG, Kovalev, Swift, etc. I just can't see Broner making the jump.

Broner is more famous right now than Floyd was at the same age and he's accomplished far less, nothing to do with skill

it's about name recognition, floyd built his name up while being p4p

shyt Rigo p4p and so is Ward right now, but they are less known than Broner is right now

Pacquiao didn't become a house hold name until he was around 30 too

if he wouldn't have lost to Maidana the Broner hype would've been even greater, prior to that lost people were already comparing him to Floyd, talking crazy shyt like he can give floyd his first lost, but people have selective memory after somebody takes an L

Floyd mainly makes money because he's undefeated.

I disagree. If that's the case "boring" Rigondeaux, or any other undefeated fighter, would be pulling in his money. He makes it because so many people love him....but 2x as many hate him and tune in to see him get beat STRICTLY because they are haters. Even if Floyd wouldve lost to Maidana, he'd still be the biggest draw in the sport because he's hated. Being hated or loved makes you a draw...not your record.

Even before Floyd became a PPV attraction, he wasn't making 8 million a year. It was more in the range of 1-4 million a fight.

Floyd made a minimum guarantee of 8 million to fight Carlos Baldomir and 6 million to fight Zab Judag (not including back end splits which added to his purses) before even getting to ODLH. Broner knows that and he's banking on himself getting to at least THAT level.

Broner isn't and probably will never be the best in the sport. The talent is there, but everything else is not for whatever reason. AB doesn't have the same glamour that he had before he took the L against Maidana. Like it or not breh, being undefeated goes a long way.

But Broner is still the 2nd biggest American Boxer in the sport after Floyd. That's not deniable and again, the views for his fights will continue to show that people tune in when he's fighting whether to see him win or see him lose again. That's how you get paid.

Add to the fact that Floyd's haters have and have had in the past the thirst to see him lose. Im talking since the fight with Chico, and he had Manny helping him sell himself to the public. That footage of Broner and Maidana will always exist. There is no mystery around whether or not he can be beat. He can be beat.

Arturo Gatti could be beat but was a draw. Manny Pacquiao has been beaten 5x and is the 2nd biggest draw in the sport. I could go on and on.

As long as people tune in, for whatever reason, that's how you get paid. Again, he got paid 1.25 million as the OPENING BOUT for the Floyd vs Maidana fight AFTER just losing to Maidana and fighting a very unknown Carlos Molina. He's a draw.

Broner isn't the next PPV star. Not because he isn't talented enough, but because he isn't charismatic enough, and even with the amount of haters Floyd has, dude is still pretty charasmatic and has die hard fan-boys, which Broner does not. I like Broner, because I understand that culture, but for the most part dude is pretty unlikeable. :manny:

Who knows:yeshrug:

But that's what he's banking on and I can't blame him. Like I said, Floyd made great money (and was less a draw than Broner is today) by fighting Judah and Baldomir on back to back PPVS. Broner believes he can do the same and I'm not gonna be upset because the youngin is choosing to believe in himself and abilities moving forward in the near future.

Also, PBF was all for joking and clowning for the hype, for the fight he was all bidness. Once he got in the ring, all that joke shyt went out the window and he was focused, and had laser accuracy.

Broner does the same. You're saying it as if Broner always playing around in the ring or like you forgot Floyd was the same fighter giving Jim Lampley his picks for upcoming sports games DURING the 7th round of his fight against Brusseles:mjpls:

5 years from now, Turning down this 40 million is either going to look like a brilliant move by Broner, or an idiotic one, and honestly Im rolling with the latter.

I agree....but I'm going with the former:salutekobe:

What do you mean?

So, if Broner took that contract but continued winning and eventually picked up titles while becoming a PPV attraction, you're telling me it would've been a good deal still? :shaq2:

No:ufdup:

Broner is betting on himself and a 8 million per year fight contract (because Jay would only schedule him two fights a year while Broner intends on fighting at least 3x a year) wouldn't be enough if he gets to where he expects. ..a PPV fighter.

And Floyd doesn't make his money because he's only undefeated:camby:

He makes his money because he's the best in the sport...plus he has tons of haters. Adrien Broner is a draw who brings in a million views almost every single fight out STILL, even after the loss to Maidana.

And 1.2 million is his career high????

He got 1.5 million to fight Paulie, 1.25 million to fight Carlos Molina, and 1 million to fight Emmanuel Taylor....I don't know exactly how much he got against Maidana, but I'm sure it was at least 2 million and ALL the fights were on regular cable accept against Molina. To just ignore what he could earn as a PPV attraction is nieve...especially since he has the 2nd most haters in the sport who still tune in (obviously by the views he gets every time out) to see him lose, even though he's lost already.
nikka talkin out his ass.

Probably mad cuz adrien fukked his bytch

Another Gold Medal
Heel mode $ like Floyd works if you are undefeated along with being hated. The best Broner can do is Mayorga heel mode at this point, where haters already seen him get his ass whooped but wouldn't mind to see it again. :manny:
