CELEBRATED trainer Freddie Roach said World Boxing Organization light welterweight champion Chris Algieri, the next opponent of WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao “is nothing special.”

Pacquiao puts his title on the line against Algieri, who is moving up in weight to face the Filipino ring icon at the Cotai Arena of the Venetian Resort Hotel and Casino in Macau on Nov. 22.

Roach told BoxingScene.com/Manila Standard/Viva Sports that Algieri is tall and is a “boxer who has a good jab, but is nothing special. Pacquiao is going to have to press him a bit and will probably knock him out along the way.”

It's a horrible fight and Im glad that Freddie Roach is basically admitting such....but again, he is Provodnikov's trainer so he knows first hand.

He's got few options but he did it to himself by re-upping with Arum. He could've been a free agent or tied himself elsewhere. Guess he'd rather fight the Rios and Algieri's of the world.

Why aren't all these other options stepping up to fight Pacquiao though?? since Pac is the champ...Not like its a Ward situation where he only wants to fight in Oakland and isn't a huge draw.
