Even As a brehette, I’m not one for just “accepting” whatever they hand down to us in the form of “entertainment”- Fred Hampton’s life wasn’t a movie- he lived this, he died for this. For some Hollywood exec to tell us that a black American man wasn’t “good enough” is essentially what they keep doing to. So for various outsiders to dictate what his story is and who should “play” him while they look down at those actually putting work in, deep in the struggle - I’m not with it.This shyt is so demoralizing.
Take something so powerful and give it back to us in the form of a movie we have to pay to see.
