They had Mahinmi and Miles last season too.

But they also had David West, Luis Scola, and Hibbert (who was still a serviceable but overpaid rim protector). They had the same record as the 8th seed Nets. This season the only main roster addition is a healthy Paul George and rookie Myles Turner had flashes.

Like Monte isn't such a beast when healthy that he shifts defenses whether he's making shots or not. Roy wasn't an overpaid rim protector. He's one of the top best in the NBA at that. His problem was he shot 50% in the paint.

D'Antoni makes sense if they're trying to change their offense but the others

Jackson couldn't even get the Warriors to a top 10 offense despite all the talent they had so I'm not sure how he's gonna ignite the Pacers. Shaw was just all-around awful in Denver, Wittman is clueless. And if Bird wants the offense to be almost entirely Paul George isos then I guess Woodson is the right choice

I always thought Vogel was one of the better coaches in the league. Good attitude and helped the team chemistry flow well.

I wonder how Paul George feels about this. They went to back to back eastern conference finals together.
