I can't believe we are still having this conversation. After the initial blog thing came out 'exposing him' and Frank got done discussing it, it literally fell off the map completely until Target said they weren't bringing in the album and people thought it was a gay issue. Outside of that his album didn't spark nearly as much controversy as people thought it would. It didn't sky rocket him to Lady Gaga fame. People didn't all of a sudden start riding hard for him(pause). If anything you see more people that refuse to listen to him anymore, don't care about his album, and deleted all of his music.

As for him being a fake gay. I bought the album and the letter that was posted on the internet was inside of the album. It comes in a really really tiny card that is stuffed in the case. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if there are people that don't even know it's in there. Which means that he already planned to come out after people bought the album not before. If you listened to the album you would have came to the same conclusion either way. It's not like he exploited it because SOMEONE ELSE listened to it and came to the conclusion he was gay so he decided to show the letter earlier than intended

him being gay didn't skyrocket him but it did win him some fans. i know people who aren't gay themselves but are "liberal" and dont even listen to urban music and they was talking all this shyt saying how brave he is and how they support his music. he definitely won some fans but he lost some fans too. but truthfully, he really isn't that big of an artist for it to really matter. i mean yeah he had a buzz, but he hadn't really blown up yet so its really not even an issue like that.

i dont think he is faking gay at all, thats just stupid because if thats the case unless he gonna fake gay for his whole career once people realize he faking it they would drop him in a second. and yeah its pretty obvious he is gay, i think the whole idea of him "faking gay" or fanboys talking about "he never admitted to being gay he just said he loved a dude, that doesn't make him gay" is just because he has some insecure male fans who dont want to admit that their new favorite rnb singer that they been hyping up and rocking out to is gay. well, sorry boys, but your dude likes dikks. the weeknd is prolly gay too, but i dont think he aint gonna admit that shyt until we see how this frank ocean thing pans out.

His faking it, this is how it will go :

1. Gay
2. next "oh, his bi-sexual"
3. next gets a hollywood dime piece
4. next probably gets married to dime chick
5. next laughing at all his money and fame, after doing step #1.

dude has zero gay in him, as well as zero moral conduct (OF affiliation shows this)

I don't know about Ocean but Nikki Minaj rode the wave to the point where she was the cover of a gay/lesbian magazine.

Then when she had to switch her style to the Barbie shyt to dead the Lil Kim comparisons and became a role model she suddenly wasn't gay, just identifying with the struggle or some bullshyt.

Smart marketing move though. Consumers are far more willing to accept a gay female artist than a male. The Frank Ocean thing was kind of a testing the waters thing I believe. That's why it was so ambiguous. He gained a bunch of Twitter followers but that's about it.

It's been going on strong in the last 10 years, people faking gay to make dollars and infiltrate themselves in positions they want to be.

I cant respect this, but mark these words they will be more "stars" faking gay to get that gay dollars and media adoration "non-threatening" black male attention that transform into more doors opened.

who with me ?

interesting

being flexible can open doors.

I completely agree with that and that is why I find it completely ridiculous for someone to come out and say it is a better look for a black man to come out as gay/bi then it is for him to just keep it moving. Lets face it, a lot of black people don't tolerate none of that gay shyt. They don't care for the reasoning. Then you have straight men that wont even admit to listen to him anymore because of this. Or you have people that completely deleted all of his music because of what he represented. People don't really respect gay men at all. Lesbians are a completely different animal because that can be turned into a fantasy type thing and it has been in a lot of social media for a long time.:manny:

His not going for a black audience or support.

His going for paparazzi and media coverage, his already been in GQ i dont think Nas has ever been in GQ.

He wants that mainstream crossover audience (whites and especially girls), its in his music his style and his fake gay stint ..... black people will support any dope sh1t, he wants that "transcends RnB" stick.

I wont go as far as to call him a c00n, but he wants to be sitting across Jay Leno and be on SNL. His not thinking about BET at all, nor where that OF garbage. This Gay stunt bought him media attention and he was/is trying to capitalize of it.

I do think that him writing that letter that he had feelings for a man at some point in his life messed up his album sells. He is not as popular as he should have been. Def Jam didn't promote the album the way I thought it would have been promoted. The Pyramids video just dropped today. I heard a radio personality in Charlotte say SHE "doesn't feel comfortable singing Thinking About You" because she thinks he wrote it about a man.

So you think the person that first called him out was apart of the plan from the start?

He wrote "Thinkin About You" for a female artist then ended up keeping it for himself.

So you think the person that first called him out was apart of the plan from the start?

I dont know much about him outside his OF afilition and he covered a bunch of hipster rock songs and that 'he was gay'

I think his plan is to get as broad as possible in this entertainment game, so what skills set him apart from your trey songz, tyrese, the dream. Well he moved left field with the indie stuff and his gay .... so media are going to call him "unique" "authentic" a "real artist"

all types of appraisals that a masculine black man wont get so easy, on top of that dont underestimate gay support. They will make you money and a star .... and none of this matters when he goes back home chopping down dime chicks after dime chicks.

dude is about as gay as Wilt Chamberlain :wow:

+

If you wanted to work in hollywood or music as a writer, or a fashion designer and etc. Knowing already the black mans constraints dont you think being effeminate or even faking being gay will set you apart and put that stamp of "oh his different, talented" .......... I mean this dude hangs out with a bunch of sadistic devil worshiping clowns OF, its not a far stretch he has no moral conduct and will do things like this to get on.
