America as a whole commentators and sports pundit get too much into chatty patty territory. Trying to get themselves over and be celebs and shyt.

It's a cultural thing..it gotta be..even in NFL some of the pundits will be in some gossipy bullshyt or trying too hard to get themselves over with jokes..instead of explaining the sport and what is going on.

I miss Madden because he made it a point to teach what was happening on the field...If I recall he wasn't too keen on talm bout random bullshyt going on in pop culture or some goofy ass fan on the screen.
It absolutely is a US thing. Gotta remember that over here, Soccer will float somewhere between third and fifth in terms of popularity, depending on the usual variables. In Europe, it's a lot safer to assume the audience is familiar, so it's way easier for them to get into tactics and whatnot.

It's just like the NFL broadcast packages here in the US are actually really heavy (probably too heavy, in my opinion) on jargon and specific terminology, because they know that most of the audience has some familiarity. Just a regional difference.

He didn't, hence why he is so revered. Madden just loved to talk about football and teach people the game and had the charm to pull it through.

My theory is most of the people American broadcasters trust to showcase the game don't really understand the game on a basic level, and those that do have no personality.

US TV needs a former coach to be a high-level pundit.

I think a lot of it is that former players eventually want to sell the viewer on their personality instead of their expertise, because they'll eventually hit a point where they just don't relate to the current game. Madden was a completely different beast, because he really was genuinely interested in teaching as much about the game as possible, and wanted to treat every game like it could be someone's first.

True but that said I can't really fault them cause the average "fan" can't really get into the Xs and Os and can only follow surface level analysis like "So so is the GOAT/sucks" "Player X is better than player Y" and gossiping about locker room beefs and player movements

I don't know the resolution these channels broadcast in, but the ITV/BBC broadcasts look much more clear than the Fox filth. Even for football, CBS/NBC looks much clearer than Fox.

It is what it is if you ask me. Even if they had outstanding coverage most American casuals wouldn't even know it. Only the heads that watch the Euro and Champions League matches will be able to spot really good coverage and play by play calling. All the casuals that got pissed cause USA vs England ended in a tie and ripped the sport to death on Twitter -even though we still get tie games in the NFL- is all I need to know.

To the people bringing up Telemundo, I hope ya'll speak some type of Spanish and its more than just how amped they get when a goal is scored or nearly scored :beli:
ive watched both broadcasts and literally feel like im missing nothing of value when i watch telemundo instead. if i had to watch the fox broadcast i would just put it on mute and listen to music

also, bolded is highly insulting to our intelligence. we’re watching telemundo for the women

Fox is pretty bad at handling sports in general. They just got good at college football, and even then, it's more of Gus carrying the network than them doing anything groundbreaking themselves with their coverage.
