It's fukked up because they had a consensual sexual relationship and she thought she was going to get a career boost out of it. They ended their relationship and her screen time declined which is not in his control. Booking guests and outlining the course of the show is the Producer's job. He probably didn't have any juice to where he could do anything like that and she felt scorned. Never dip your pen in company ink especially if you have more to lose than the person you're fukking.
