He was convicted of violating Walter Scott civil right after killing him in 2015… His state trail ended in a mistrial in 2016 do you remember that? He was convicted in 2017 on federal civil rights violations… Feds already had the chargers on deck for him under the Obama admin.. Jeff Sessions wasn’t touching that case with a 30ft poll.. if this case was under the trump admin from start to finish Slager would have never gotten charged

You trying to be a contrarian breh?

The justice dept went hard on cops during the Trump admin. Are you saying they did not?

They did? Since when? Under Sessions? Barr? Give me specific cases
Off the top, the whole Baltimore Police Gun Task Force got charged and convicted under his admin.

And kill the whole Obama admin had charges on deck, no they did not :stopitslime:. In fact he was actually sentenced to 20 years by a Bush appt judge

No they didn't. Led by Jeff sessions, they unraveled every single check on police misconduct/abuse instituted under Obama.

That investigation began under the previous administration.

Unless you think sessions began and carried out the investigation in 4 weeks. :pachaha:

So he undid all the Obama policies but the the Walter Scott investigation went untouched?

My point is you act like police accountability is strong with one party vs the next. It's shyt either way and you know it

Like they did Ferguson :comeon:

The JD investigation of Ferguson was incredible. The report was incredible. The consequences were a joke. Based on the report, every fukking officer in that department should have been fired and half of them should have faced federal charges. There was an enormous let-down.

The justice dept went hard on cops during the Trump admin. Are you saying they did not?

This is bullshyt. The Trump JD only opened one investigation into a police department during its entire reign (comparatively, the Obama JD opened 25 and reported some sort of consequences in 17 of them). Trump JD also passed a new rule that completely nerfed consent degrees so police departments basically had no consequences.

So he undid all the Obama policies but the the Walter Scott investigation went untouched?

Blocking/dropping an ongoing investigation if criminal wrongdoing has already been found can open you up to serious consequences that career-minded people working in the JD did not want to risk. For the most part the Trump JD allowed the legacy investigations from the previous administration to finish up, but refused to open new ones.

How do you feel about the way the Trump JD handled the shooting of BT?
