Do we think streamers weren't ever paid to play Fornite? The fact that companies have to pay your average person or "streamers" to play their shytty games says more about this industry than anything. Unoriginal and inorganic.
Anyway, we won't see 2018 numbers again for the simple fact that there's more games in the space. Apex is getting its 15 minutes before another comes and it's all green for EA, they're making bank off old Titanfall assets that wouldn't have been used otherwise. Eventually the space will be saturated enough to the point of fatigue and people wanting something new.
"Fortnite is the new Smash" - is what was told to me this past summer by somebody on this board. No game in this freemium/money grab genre will have the longevity, the disrespect.
