In all fairness the "weeb trash with terrible writing" is translated from another language. Native English speakers complaining about a game written in English is entirely different than native English speakers criticizing a game written in Japanese then translated to English. It's like Monica's daughter in Xenoblade 3. I don't know if that's how her dialog was actually written in Japanese but it was dreadful in EnglishYep they in this thread keekee-ing while in another thread praising the same weeb trash with terrible writing

Doesn't change the fact that someone being critical of a work of their own native language is entirely different than criticizing the derivative work of a translator. Either way people criticizing the dialog of this game out of context from just some clips are on some bullshyt. For all they know the protagonist could drastically mature by the end of the game and carry herself different. Plenty of characters I initially thought were insufferable utilized that to later become beloved characters through character development.

Forspoken with it’s cringey dialogue but focus on open world gameplay: “how can yall play games with such bad writing??”
Seeing so many people in media act like the Midnight Suns story and writing was so unbearable and actually playing it and not only having it be fine but actually pretty entertaining? I don’t take opinions of a lot of people seriously when it comes to this anymore.
A lot of people have a bias against western writing and jizz their hello kitty panties over anything japanese

Its not japanese its written by Amy Hennig from Uncharted/Kain, Gary Whitta of Star Wars Rogue One, and a couple other people.
And it’s an Isekai which is basically what the japanese version of a CW show is
