Why did rock-cena 2 need the title? And who was dying for a rock vs cena rematch?

to make the rematch seem important. Rock Cena 2 without the title is :manny: i mean it was still :manny: with the title but in their minds the match needed the title so it'll make the match seem like a bigger deal.

Though he does sound delusional and angry that the crowd still accepts guys like The Rock and Brock...he hates that Rock is such a fukking draw.

I didn't get this at all from the interview. I feel that he hates how WWE uses guys like The Rock and Brock, but not the fact that they're draws in and of themselves.

What a fukking interview this was. I mean, we knew about the WWE's star system, how they steal ideas from people, and even the health issues (Bob Holly had a similar issue with a staph infection and they still had him work a European tour with it), but not in this detail. Even before he got to the MRSA issues, the story about how he got "cleared" to wrestle after his elbow surgery and he didn't know until Michael Hayes came up to him was something else. The concussion issues don't surprise me (by the way, the Sports Legacy Institute loses all credibility for putting Hunter on its board after listening to this shyt) and the way Punk's in-ring work nosedived after his match with Lesnar suddenly makes a lot more sense, but the way they fukked up the treatment of his infection was appalling (reminds me of Eric Lindros nearly getting killed by his team trainer's negligence, for those who follow Hockey).

The stuff about the way they kept working him isn't surprising either, but it only becomes something to notice when you place it slightly outside of a wrestling context. For both fans and wrestlers, you're supposed to kill yourself for the company and for the love of the business, but when you take that attitude and put it into nearly any other context, it's madness to even consider thinking that way. Given that it only got him disappointment, constant leapfrogging in the pecking order for part-timers and John Cena, and a broken body courtesy of Ryback (boy that was one hell of a burial...), I'm not sure you can see it as anything other than the height of insanity. Punk realized this and decided it wasn't worth it. Good for him.

Oh, and Triple H is who we thought he was. Nothing new there.

Based on this side of the story, Punk was completely in the right in every decision he made after the Royal Rumble, and I don't EVER expect him back in a wrestling ring again. Ever. Getting fired on your wedding day (how fukking callous is that? Guarantee that it was a Hunter move, too) will do that.

Good on Punk for leaving that hellhole, and best of luck to him.

Edit: Forgot to mention this, but it's important: it's both shocking and completely unsurprising to me that Punk was the only one asking questions about his pay. We get reports from Meltzer and others constantly about dwindling house show payouts, and yet Punk's the only one asking questions. I know that the nature of wrestling fandom and the business itself conditions guys to question nothing about the workings of the business, but when it comes to something as fundamental as basic house show pay and PPV bonuses post-Network, no one but Punk is asking questions? Ridiculous. And ridiculous of WWE to not have that figured out before launching the network (though I have half a mind to say that they were just going to eliminate the bonuses and cut their pay). Hopefully, the workers learn something from this and start asking questions about just how they're pay is calculated.

punk is a quitter. Fans want to see him perform in wwe but he just cares about the money and the nikka got a big ego.fukk him. He shoulda left when he didn't have any money if the politics bother him so much..he got paid and said fukk it..he seems like a lazy quitter
LMAO nikka did you listen to any of the interview

I don't know how anybody can blame Punk for leaving after listening to that or thinking all he cares about is money

RE: Jobbing to part timers.

I think Punk's point is very valid and truthful. But what he didn't mention was the bad timing of all those matches.

1) Rock. Punk couldn't win clean before Mania, you don't job the returning mega star on his first show back 2 months before Wrestlemania. So he had 1 or 2 cheap wins before losing the belt at WM in a Three Way? How realistic is that? And Punk knew 7 MONTHS BEFORE the Rumble that Rock was winning the belt and he took the match anyway. The fact that he couldn't politic his way to a W is on Punk, he took the chance and ended up losing.

2) Taker at Mania was never going to be a W for Punk. NOW, you can make a case about this match could've been his main event.

3) Brock. Now this I'm 100% with Punk. There was no reason for him not to get a rematch against Lesnar and do the same shyt Hunter did with Brock. WWE didn't give a fukk about protecting Brock against Cena and Triple H but suddenly they give a fukk when it's against their 1B star? Nah, that's bullshyt.

He murdered Cripple H at the end of his rant here. They don't like each other and it sounds like he ain't coming back. No ifs, ands, or buts about it. He's VERY irritated about not main eventing WM..he even brings that up yet again towards the end and when they speak on comic book writing and other post wrestling ventures. But he told off Cripple H after the Rumble about him being hurt and not wanting to wrestle him at Mania..Vince said it was the co main event or some wack sh1t but he said it's not the last match and he didn't want to do it. He made it sound like Cripple H wrestling him was a feather in his cap instead of it being a positive for him. He makes it out like Cripple H is very sneaky, underhanded, political, took his Shield idea, brought up him burying him after he got hot in 2011 with that unneccessary win on PPV, talked about Cripple H burying Mr. Perfect's son, they had an angry text session last June(Two days before his wedding) and he said he would call him when he got back. The day after his honey moon but they sent a Fed Ex of his termination papers on his wedding day. He was really amped and pissed about that. Said that was the end of him ever having anything to do with the WWE. He got a lawyer and got royalties that were due and shyt like that.

He got the Stone Cold firing. :wow:

Couldn't even call to tell him. :mjlol:

Im not saying bryan wasnt a draw but ratings werent significantly better with bryan around and punk not around..plus the product in general was shyttier during punk's reign. People power era and side storylines were generally more wack. Its hard to directly credit or discredit one or the other imo thats why i was alluding to it being unfair to blame punk and credit bryan outright since they both got over, both moved merch and both put on good matches

The Punk/Bryan debate is silly to me. It's all about timing with those two. Their pushes faced completely different challenges and D-Bry only got the happy ending because the crowd was waaay more vocal about his situation than Punk's and because Punk pissed Triple H off when he left.

Seriously. There is a BIT of a difference between going up against Cena/Rock twice than fukking Orton/Batista :heh:
