my thing is, no one is making people take these drugs and also most of the shyt people take drugs for is preventable shyt.

The power of suggestion and influence is key. People trust these people with their lives because not one generation living has went without advertisement and television.

The promotion of it has a lot to do with it's efficacy. When the product doesn't work, it's still boosted and promoted as effected. Tamiflu is a good example.
You're missing the point you fukking idiot

Theres a problem with credibility in research but this has NOTHING to do with whether or not a drug works

You're making this thread about something it isn't about.

Thats why I don't respect you.

Answer the question. Stop beating around the bush. Tamiflu is still on the market and it's known by peer review and doctors that is doesn't work. How are you justifying your stance when it's clearly the opposite?

So my thread I created isn't what it says it is?

Tamil works. It doesn't work as well as people want it to.

If you understand anything about how viruses work, you understand this.

Its not really fair to criticize big pharma for having to do what they need to to survive as companies in this anti-humanity market system. You could have whistle blowers from each of the fortune 500 companies.

You don't see the problem?

“The case against science is straightforward: much of the scientific literature, perhaps half, may simply be untrue. Afflicted by studies with small sample sizes, tiny effects, invalid exploratory analyses, and flagrant conflicts of interest, together with an obsession for pursuing fashionable trends of dubious importance, science has taken a turn towards darkness.” – Dr. Richard Horton, the current editor-in-chief of the Lancet – considered to be one of the most well respected peer-reviewed medical journals in the world.

:dahell:

if damn near half the research is bullshyt, then there is a serious problem. And if you can't see the problem with that... :snoop:

None of what this former VP of Pfizer says is groundbreaking...and lol@anyone who takes single center, high p-value studies seriously. I have even seen some studies with a CI of like 90% before. There are so many garbage research studies coming out everyday. They even publish studies with high attrition rates.

They just approved a drug that can cause blindness. The folks at FDA are just having fun out here. We never relied on the FDA for anything, you can produce a drug, but it becoming a huge success is a whole other thing. Very few drugs that come out are as good as drugs that came out 20 years ago, ask any doctor and they will tell you.

This former VP acts like he giving out some best kept secret or something, those are the types who are just full of themselves.

He has been speaking out on this for over 10 years but it's just recently getting big attention.

ezogabine (Potiga) has a potential to cause blindness and FDA acts like it doesn't have care in the world. A safer isostere has to be possible I would think.

As far as Dr. Peter Rost's crusade is concerned dude is full of himself, and his talks only benefit those who watch Oprah and the 11 O'Clock news.

And the cause he is rallying against has been something greater men have been against, for a lot longer time.

We know how bogus the pharmaceutical industry is, Avandia and Vioxx was huge fiasco. Its a dirty game.
