I don't blame him for staying if they offered him a better deal, but I don't see why they did that. They paid him more to be a jobber.
Getting paid more money for less work and more freedom to do what he wants outside the company.

Would have been an easy feud for Roode going into Fastlane or even Mania. Keep him away while Roode gets a few defenses under his belt, then have Ziggler come back like, "Um....fukk you think you doing with my belt?"
