Carter's presidency was Ok, but I think his biggest thing with it was International Affairs.
Obviously going to be remembered for his post-Presidency, and didn't really try to steal the spotlight once he left Office.
I think as well he served in World War 2, and if you consider the last year of it 1945, then in 2025, that will be 80 years since the end; almost anybody still alive that fought will be in their 90s.
It's going to be interesting to know who will be the 'Last Known Soldier' of World War 2; it kind of feels like the last Soul to depart the Earth and reunite with those who were involved. Sort of like the last Survivor of Titanic, where in the Afterlife there is a Titanic, waiting for everyone who was aboard that night to depart to the Afterlife together.
What is age of the youngest surviving WWII vete... | History Hub
My father in law is 92 and served in WWII at the end. With the dwindling population of WW2 veterans, he asked me to research if he was the youngest
Theres a decent chance there will only be a handful left in 2025
Youngest enlistment age was 16 though some enlisted fraudulently at younger ages. Let's say someone was 15 and saw combat in 1945..that puts them at 95 years old if they are still alive.
