Porn chose VHS and Blu Ray (which is why Beta and HD DVD died). The actual Internet was mostly porn before streaming like Netflix.

It's not banned in any states. Certain states just require id to access pornographic websites. Texas is one I think.

The right wing in this country is telling you that they are going to try their hardest to implement a Christian nationalist society. Obviously porn watching doesn't match that. They tried banning ivf in Alabam and were upholding civil war era laws in Arizona. The only reason this was pushed back on to some extent is because the other side fought tooth and nail to do so.
They aren't lying.
Also, just because they are deviants in power doesn't mean they are going to not try to pass puritanical laws to satisfy certain interest groups. How many times have we seen stories of these folks doing gay shyt behind closed doors but being ultra anti gay publically. They don't plan to follow the laws they pass, they will just force you to follow them.
