I know what churches do breh. Just because you have year round food pantry but that has nothing to do with the money. That food is donated by different orgs then given to the people. It's good i guess but that had nothing to do with what i said. I'm sorry but i highly doubt your bills aren't covered by AT LEAST the middle of the month. I'd like to see the finances of your church to better judge though because it always seems a bit :patrice:

Also you don't need to pay anyone to do some damn lawn care :rudy:
Do it yourself as a church

Huh? How do you know how our church gets food? Our church doesn't get food from any organization. It comes out of the money of people who donate and the food coordinator buys food. Sometimes people donate dry food. Same with the once of month food program. Some churches do have their own 501 where they get donations from companies. But again, you can't assume that goes for every church. That doesn't go for our. That comes out of money donations. We buy and cook the food for the dinner.

Our finances are open to any member who wishes to see them. All you have to do is go to the trustee office. You can see the money collected as well as the money that goes out every month. We have a buiiding to pay off, so it's more then electricity and gas. You have extermination company, phone, printer (that's very expensive to rent plus paper) extermination company to prevent spider, bugs, alarm company (yes, niguhs love to break in to churches, steal electronic equipment, air conditioning, etc.) You have musicians, secretary, that are not going to do it for free. I know some white churches that they even pay people to teach Sunday school. (But it don't work like that in most Black churches. Mostly volunteers).

Lawn care is not all that expensive where it would be better to have volunteers do it instead. But it is a bill. Winter time, you need snow removal for the parking lot). Internet (needed for our tutoring program and kids researching for school). Bottom line, like anything money is needed. Again, any other non-profit, it's no problem. But non-Christians act like we're suppose to pray and everything will be free. We live in a world like everybody else. And it cost money to run it. I don't know when the bill gets covered. Maybe it is by the middle of the month.

Its only the idiots on both sides who make these stupid ass generalizations. My church offered debt free classes, and even bought an apartment complex so they could offer low income families in the area better living conditions with far lower rent. Doesn't change the fact their are churches where the pastor demands the congregation pay tithe so reverend can upgrade his helicopter blades. People will always exaggerate the negative and overlook the good, it's just the way things are.
