but it's all in the planning phases right now. I dont wanna start unprepared and fail.
Too much prep is a bad thing. Sometimes you just gotta start.
This isn't just fitness but with everything, people that want to stop smoking, do anything.
Start small if you have to but just start.
C.T Fletcher said it best "If you can't do what you want, do what you can." Even something is better than nothing.
Just walk around the block. Do 10 body squats. Even substitute one pop/soda with a glass of water.
Make unreasonable decisions but reward yourself for them. Like if you get the whopper combo, just eat the burger and fries, but no drink, and that 400 calories you saved on pop, have a cookie or ice cream cone. As you make alternate decisions and decisions on the fly, it'll become easier. Then youll be able to make smarter choices too. Knowing how to choose smarter alternatives isnt hard but choosing alternatives is a foreign concept to people that don't do it.
Too much prep can be a bad thing, there's always something not quite right.
"Well I want to start on a Monday so I can work out Monday, Wednesday, Friday"
"Well I need to start on the first of 15th so when I do this 90 day program it'll be the 1st or the 15th of...."
You just need a starting point and a safety net (backup plan). Like mine for riding or running is "I'm either going to do it outside or inside" I typically do it in the morning so I just check the weather and see what I gotta do. And on days I'm not motivated, just do it and get it over with.
