I had Michigan -2 yesterday (I had to take them after offering the line to you guys earlier in the week), so it was almost a lose-lose for me if Michigan would have only won by 1. I was, in a sense, hedging my losses as a fan. If UT won, and I was out 100, I wouldn't really care. If UT lost, but I still won 100, at least I got something out of it. The bet ended up pushing, so it was more of a sense of relief, mixed in with the joy of it actually turning out to be a great finish. How they ended that game on a charge inside of 10 seconds is beyond me. When you have two big men playing down low, one of them a potential NBA player, you have to let them play. I digress.

I almost took Florida at -10 tonight, but I thought better of taking the line even like that, and bought it down to 9.5 just in case. I think I'm going to buy at least half a point from now on. Maybe there's a general rule that would call that thought dumb, but I feel like I always miss out on a great line or parlay because I took the line just a half a point too big, or not a half a point enough. (Using the Florida example, I would have left it at 10 instead of betting up to -9.5 or down to +9.5).

Anyway, it paid off.

Yeah, whenever there's a hook I almost always buy up unless numbers show it doesn't really make a difference. I had Dayton +10 and Dayton +10.5.

That last garbage time bucket :whew:

People say you should never buy the hook cause you spend more in juice over time but I think that's bullshyt considering how many times I've been burned by half points.

I don't mind giving up a few dollars to save a lot of dollars

:manny: sometimes that "SO CLOSE" feeling is worth avoiding

buhleedat. I knew that spread was sharp as hell though. Numers had it falling on 11, and so far this tourney virtually every spread has been right around the number.

I figured some bullshyt would happen at the end though like that, but sometimes it's better to be on the right side of bullshyt.

I bought Florida down to 9.5

I prefer to buy numbers depending on where they fall and how I feel about the game. I've found it works better for me. Makes the break even point higher but I'm able to overcome that when lines are sharp.
